So my internet's been all wonky lately. It'll stop letting everyone browse but MSN stays logged in and we can still chat. Unplugging and plugging the router works everytime. Not sure how to fix that or if it's just the router dying. It's an Airlink so it might just be shitty.

Second issue is that one of my partitions where everything gets downloaded to is also bein all funky. I can play files if I open them from the player(ie. VLC) and delete them through the player. However, when I go into explorer to get to the files, I can get into the drive and open folders, but if I click on the files it instantly crashes explorer. Nothing else happens so I have no idea what's going on.

Hah, our female roommate got a virus from "looking to download the Bachelor and going to a pr0n site accidentally". I don't know if she's so terrible with computers that that's true, or if she was just going to pr0n.

I don't like midget horse porn...take the midgets out now...and we might have something.

#1 might be a router problem or a virus somewhere. Scan with the usual suspects to check for cooties.

#2 is most likely related to the Windows preview. This sometimes happens if the header of a video file is a bit corrupted. They still play but the prefetching of a preview will crash the explorer. Try setting the folder properties for the entire drive to "all documents" or something and see if that works.

In the end it's probably your comp disagreeing with playing horse porn.

Worked with internet tech support for two years, so I'll offer some assistance on the first issue. Sounds like a possible firewall issue in the router, which you might want to ease up it's limitations so there's no restrictions. If not, could be a possible malware/spyware infection on computer. Able to use MSN, but not able to browse is rather an issue with the DNS (you can tell if it's malware easily sometimes by browsing via IP address instead of site name) or the connection is having trouble resolving the DNS itself. No idea with second situation.

If it's a DNS issue then using a different DNS server might fix it. Most ISPs have more then 1.
